The Tenova Inc. internship program is designed to “test the waters” of working in the engineering and steelmaking industry. You will spend your summer working in a specific department on meaningful projects, establishing an understanding of Tenova's culture and processes, as well as developing a business mindset.
The program is a blend of hands-on experiences and opportunities. Throughout the program, you can expect to gain a better understanding of your future potential at Tenova through valuable project work.
All internships last approximately 12 weeks. Your start/end date can vary based on your final exam schedule and needs. Internships are paid and designed to be a step towards joining Tenova with an entry-level position upon graduation.
You will be involved in supporting the Electrical Engineering Team in creating a generic and reusable technical description for specification and procurement of Motor Control Centers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Study multiple solutions used in past and present jobs.
- Analyze industry standards and regulations related to MCCs.
- Categorize specifications based on electrical, mechanical, and operational aspects.
- Combine all relevant information in a single comprehensive document to describe in detail all technical requirements to design an MCC.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather feedback and ensure alignment with the company’s requirements.
- Publish the generic and reusable technical description for broader use.
- Establish a process for ongoing updates and improvements to the technical description.
- Encourage feedback from users and stakeholders for continuous refinement.
To become an intern with Tenova, there are a few key things you’ll need to have/had:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor or Master Degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels within and outside of the organization.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Project and AutoCAD is a plus.
Job Type: Part-time, max 30 hrs
Salary: $20 per hour
