Your role in Tenova:  Project Manager
Description: 

We are looking for a professional a Project Manager willing to be part of Downstream team and be responsible for managing the operations perimeter in its entirety, leading a cross-functional Team to ensure engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain validation targets have been met for each change. The ideal candidate will have to manage the contractual and negotiation aspects of the different orders, interacting constantly with the customer/suppliers, defining the planning and the execution strategy and coordinating the progress of engineering, procurement and production activities.

Activities: 

  • Ensure that the project is tendered realistically, according to scope, time, cost & risk.
  • Define the project execution strategies.
  • Have the responsibility of the Operating Budget shared and formalized with the BU Direction, taking care of profit and loss for the project/part of project under his /her authority.
  • Set up and manage the implementation of the Project Execution plan, including quality, safety, cost, time and resources.
  • Lead the project team.
  • Define, together with the dedicated functions, the different alternatives for resource procurement (in‐house work / outsourcing; purchase / hire, etc.).
  • Minimize exposure and risk of the project.
  • Following the organization of the Project Group, coordinate the team in order that Project execution develops smoothly and in respect of the Project targets (safety, time, performances, quality and costs).
  • Verify the progress status of the Project, with the dedicated functions, through periodical Reports, identify any possible delay, decide upon corrective actions to be taken and verify the relevant implementations.
  • Maintain constantly control of the Project Budget and follow unresolved payments requests with Customer in order to maintain forecast Cash Flow .
  • Represent the company (if necessary and in accordance with the project organization) in front of clients, licensors and partners, managing relevant contractual aspects and negotiating potential Change Orders.
  • Plan and organize, in co-ordination with the Operation Manager and the Site manager, the Site start up according to the contract.
  • Coordinate the progresses of Engineering , Procurement and Manufacturing or Construction activities ensuring the respect of the contractual goals.
  • Collaborates with Accounting and Cost Control for a constant Project Monitoring.
  • Verify constantly the respect of Quality and Safety Standards, within the Project.

Required Profile:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Management Engineering;
  • 7+ years of experience as Project Manager in complex industrial applications;
  • Experience in the steel industry and siderurgical plants is mandatory, and knowledge of the design, procurement, manufacturing, installation and commissioning of reheating furnaces and treatment line furnaces is also mandatory;
  • Knowledge of Commercial Principles, Legislation & Standards;
  • Knowledge of the most advanced PC tools like Word, Excel (incl. macros), power point, Project and SAP main functions;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with good understanding of dynamic and challenging environments;
  • Organizational capabilities, planning and controlling, customer orientation, results orientation, problem solving, and people management will complete the ideal candidate profile;
  • Good knowledge of English, written and spoken;
  • Willingness to travel.
