We are looking for a young Automation Engineer willing to join our Downstream Automation Team in Italy to learn side by side with senior colleagues how to analyze and develop production processes in order to increase the automation performances identifying the problems and studying improvements through the use of consolidated and new technologies.
You will carry on the following activities:
- Develop the PLC software, based on the functional specifications of the software with the aim of targeting the contract’s specification.
- Participate in the required functional tests and trials, also at suppliers' premises.
- Participate in the drafting of the relevant project PLC software documentation, for the purpose of issuing technical manuals.
- Design with the operators the methods of the system's operation, etc.
- Participate in the commissioning of the project, starting with I/O verification, software testing for the correct functioning of the system, and training the customer's personnel on the software developed.
- Deal with the project's pertinent documentation both from internal and external source, particularly for the purposes of developing the required PLC software.
- Be updated on the forthcoming technologies on the market in order to assess their application to the project’s needs.
- Be trained in Tenova training courses in order to increase the competences.
- Participate in the after-sales phase, providing timely assistance.
Required profile:
- Degree in Automation Engineering or related technical studies.
- Knowledge of Siemens TIA Portal and Step 7 PLC language.
- Knowledge of PCS7 is a strong plus.
- Knowledge of SCADA systems is appreciated.
- Experience in the role in companies in the steel sector or in highly complex industrial automation plants is desirable.
- Fluency in English, written and spoken is mandatory, knowledge of other languages is a plus.
- Willingness to travel worldwide for medium to long periods.
- Teamwork is required.
- Open mind attitude and proactivity complete the ideal profile.
