Head of Mechanical Design (m/f/d)
Description:
We are looking for a HEAD OF MECHANICAL DESIGN (m/f/d) to lead our Mechanical Design team.
Immediate start, permanent, full-time position, based in Duisburg
Your tasks:
- Leading and developing the Mechanical Design Team
- Management of external and internal resources, including ensuring adherence to deadlines
- Oversight of ongoing projects, support, and approval, including designs, calculations, layouts, and documentation
- Ensuring compliance with technical standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements
- Continuous improvement of processes, tools, and methods
- Strengthening cost competitiveness through design-to-cost strategies and standardization
- Collaboration with other departments
Required profile:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering with a focus on mechanical design and/or plant engineering or process engineering
- At least 10 years of relevant professional experience, ideally in the field of furnace technology/heat treatment
- Leadership skills, technical expertise, and intercultural competence
- Proficiency in working with 2D and 3D CAD systems as well as PDM systems
- Excellent German and English language skills
- Occasional travel (worldwide)
