Process Control Engineer DRP Specialist

Our client is a major multinational group operating in the steel industry and a leader in the design and construction of turnkey plants. The group has approximately 3,000 employees and maintains significant production and commercial units worldwide. To strengthen the Automation Department, they are looking for an Process Control Engineer DRP Specilist.

 

You will take responsibility of the following activities:

Reporting to the Management, the Process Control Engineer DRP Specialist will be responsible for analyzing production plants and developing automation and process control engineering. Specifically, the responsibilities include:

  • Studying basic engineering documentation (P&IDs, Process Flow Diagrams, Instrument List) and collaborating with process engineers;

 

  • Preparing and maintaining the I/O list;

 

  • Developing functional specifications for software development, which will form the basis of the automation and process control system, including sequence descriptions, interlocks, safety matrices, control loops, and graphic pages;

 

  • Developing software and/or supervising the development of DCS systems and preparing the required functional tests;

 

  • Drafting system documentation and technical manuals;

 

  • Conducting hardware and software FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests) for the control system;

 

  • Participating in plant commissioning, performing all required tests, and providing necessary support according to project procedures and specifications.

 

 

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automation Engineering or related technical studies;

 

  • Knowledge of control loops;

 

  • Knowledge of safety systems and cause/effect safety matrices;

 

  • Familiarity with instrumentation and field sensors (pressure, temperature, level meters, digital sensors);

 

  • Good spoken and written English;

 

  • Availability for short trips in Italy and abroad for technical meetings and medium-length stays for commissioning;

 

  • Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork ability, and initiative;

 

  • Knowledge of DCS systems (Siemens PCS7, Emerson Delta-V, Honeywell Experion);

 

  • Experience in automation system development for process control in industrial plants is considered a plus.
