Automation Project Engineer

Automation Project Engineer with responsibilities for designing automation systems and supervising/coordinating their commissioning.

Main responsibilities:

Definition and structuring of automation systems.

Preparation of automation system engineering (system architecture, networks, remote I/O, motor list, I/O list, cable list, etc.).

Preparation of technical specifications for the purchase of control systems (PC/PLC, software), panels and accessories.

Supervision and coordination of suppliers who develop detailed engineering and the construction of panels and accessories.

Support for software engineers who develop automation.

Supervision and coordination of testing activities for panels and automation systems (FAT - Factory Acceptance Test).

Supervision and coordination of automation system commissioning activities.

Required profile:

  • Experience in defining and designing PLC-based automation systems (components, distribution, networks, SCADA platforms), preferably for steelworks (electric furnaces, fume systems, silo systems, etc.)
  • Alternatively, experience in the management/maintenance of automation systems for steelworks or other moderately complex industrial plants
  • Skills and experience in the electrical engineering of automation systems (P&ID, SCADA/PLC system architecture, signal lists, electrical diagrams, cable lists).
  • Good knowledge of English
  • Knowledge and use of electrical CAD (AutoCAD and SPAC).
  • Knowledge of DCS systems is considered a plus.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming is considered a plus
  • Willingness to travel in Italy and abroad (up to 30% of the time)
