Title: Site Supervisor
CORAOPOLIS, PA, United States, 15108
Built for people who thrive onsite, not on Teams calls.
Tenova is expanding its field team for 2026 and looking for early-career electrical engineers who want hands-on industrial experience, frequent travel, and real ownership onsite. If you’re energized by commissioning work and solving problems where equipment actually runs, you’ll fit right in.
What you’ll do
You’ll support the electrical installation, start-up, and commissioning of Tenova-supplied equipment at customer sites (steel mills and other heavy-industrial environments). You will:
-
Support onsite electrical installation (cable trays, wiring, terminations, MCCs, local cabinets, remote I/O, industrial networks)
-
Read/interpret electrical drawings and verify correct field execution
-
Assist with erection oversight and coordinate with contractors and site teams
-
Support commissioning (loop checks, point-to-point verification, MCC/VFD checks, start-up readiness)
-
Drive punch-list closure and report progress to the electrical lead
-
Work closely with Project Management and Home Office Engineering to solve field issues safely and fast
Travel & mobility (important)
-
~80% travel, often in extended rotations at domestic and international job sites
-
You can live anywhere in the U.S., but must be within reasonable driving distance of a major airport
-
Must be fully available to travel frequently by car and/or plane
What we’re looking for
-
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or close equivalent)
-
0–5 years of experience in field electrical installation/commissioning or industrial projects
-
Ability to read electrical drawings and troubleshoot in real time
-
Clear communicator with customers, contractors, and cross-functional teams
-
Safety-first mindset in active construction/start-up environments
-
Comfortable working hands-on in heavy-industrial sites
Nice to have: AutoCAD redlines / as-built markups; steel mill or similar industrial exposure.
Salary: $75,000 - $95,000 base salary per year, depending on education, experience, and geographic location.
Comp Time: Eligible Field Service Engineers/Supervisors earn 1 hour of paid compensatory time for each hour worked over 40 in a week, subject to supervisor approval, to use during downtime between projects.
