The Project Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating industrial EPC/EPCM projects to ensure that technical, commercial, scheduling, and financial objectives are achieved.
This role serves as the primary customer interface and ensures projects are delivered within contractual scope, timeline, and budget while maintaining strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution:
- Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, including:

- Project goals and milestones
- Scheduling and resource allocation
- Risk identification and mitigation plans
- Budget management and cost control
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (Engineering, Procurement, Site Services, Subcontractors) to ensure timely and compliant project execution.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously depending on scope and complexity.
Customer & Commercial Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers, managing:
- Commercial matters
- Schedule adherence
- Change requests and contract modifications
- Review and approve purchase requisitions and monitor project expenditures against approved budgets.
- Ensure compliance with contractual technical and commercial requirements.
Technical & Operational Oversight
- Collaborate with technical leadership to define and align project scope and objectives.
- Monitor project performance against technical specifications and contractual deliverables.
- Coordinate erection and commissioning activities in accordance with contractual stipulations.
- Track and manage non-conformity reports (NCRs) and support resolution during construction phases.
- Obtain customer acceptance and final project sign-off.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare monthly project status reports for management and customers.
- Establish and maintain structured reporting and documentation standards.
- Ensure accurate tracking of supervision activities and invoicing in accordance with contractual terms.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Perform all activities in compliance with:
- Tenova technical standards
- ISO quality systems and procedures
- Safety and environmental regulations
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and adherence to company procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- 5–10 years of experience in industrial project management
- Experience in EPC or EPCM environments
- Strong understanding of contract types and commercial terms
- Experience managing budgets, schedules, and cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
- Familiarity with ERP/CRM systems (SAP or similar)
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Willingness to travel as required
Preferred Skills
- Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent)
- Experience in the metals or heavy industrial sector
- Experience in systems, industrial fuel-fired furnaces, process control, or melt shop equipment
- Exposure to HAZOP or structured risk assessment methodologies
Job Type
Full-time, in-office (hybrid flexibility may be available depending on project needs).
Schedule: Monday – Friday, standard business hours.
Travel: Up to 15% domestic and international travel for client meetings, site visits, and project coordination.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Primarily office-based with prolonged computer use.
- Site work may include walking on uneven surfaces, climbing stairs/ladders, and working near heavy industrial equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and 20 lbs frequently (with or without reasonable accommodation).
- PPE provided and required in operational environments.
Salary
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $90,000 – $120,000 per year.
Compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, qualifications, technical expertise, and overall fit for the position. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for participation in Tenova Inc.’s annual Incentive Compensation Plan (ICP), subject to individual and company performance.
