We are looking for a Machinery Safety Specialist to join our Downstream Team. The role involves the safety of the industrial equipment manufactured by the Product Line and the conformity to safety laws, regulation and relevant standards (e.g. Machinery Directive, Pressure Equipment Directive, etc.). The activity requires a strong technical and legislative know how coordination with working group, technicians and supplier.
You will carry on the following activities relevant with PRODUCT SAFETY:
- Identify the legislative and regulatory framework applicable to the job order.
- Develop the Risk Assessment process and identify the necessary Risk Reduction measures.
- Safety Engineering execution/support/check, including PL/SIL calculation and Safety Function Validation Plan as per EN ISO 13849-1/2 or EN 62061.
- On-site inspection to validate risk assessment and check conformity.
- Develop documentation related to product safety, such as Risk assessment and reduction document, Safety Concept for the customer, Information on residual risks and safety procedures, etc.
- Application of Machinery Directive provisions, verifying all safety requirements are correctly implemented and Declaration can be signed.
- Support commercial activities to define safety requirements for Tenova customer requests and relevant safety specifications for offers.
- Standardize safety risk reduction measures.
- Plan and deliver training to BU staff to enhance knowledge of safety in relation to BU products.
Required profile:
- Degree in Engineering.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role; knowledge of reheating furnace or strip processing equipment or cold rolling and machinery is a plus.
- Knowledge and understanding of basic information regarding equipment and components used in engineering and manufacturing activities.
- Knowledge and understanding of Mechanical Drawing, P&ID, Schemes, Wiring diagram, technical data sheets, equipment list, functional description, etc.
- Knowledge of European Product Directives/Regulation such as Machinery Directive, Pressure Equipment Directive, ATEX and relevant harmonized safety
- Willingness to worldwide travel.
- Fluent in English, written and spoken is mandatory.
- Good inter-personal skills in combination with a strong self-supporting/ independent character and a good understanding of dynamic and challenging environments.
