Instrumentation Lead Engineer

We are looking for an Instrumentation Lead Engineer to join our Plant Engineering Team in the Special & Turn-key Projects Group of the Upstream Business Unit.
The ideal candidate will have a with a strong passion for technology and motivation to work in a multicultural and international environment characterized by high technological complexity.
You will report to the Head of Plant Engineering, with functional reporting to the Project Engineering Manager for the projects you are assigned to.
The other main interfaces will be the other Disciplines Lead Engineers and Engineers, Project Director and Project Manager, Project Procurement Team, Quality and HSE Project Team, Project Control Team as well as Client Technical Team and Suppliers
You will be responsible for the following aspects:
- Lead and optimize the overall Tenova instrumentation engineering for large and complex steel and process plants, in accordance with contractual specifications, quality standards and safety requirements.
- Ensure proper coordination between the Tenova Product Lines to achieve uniformity and consistency in instrumentation design
- Specifically develop the instrumentation engineering of the Balance of Plant (BoP), i.e. the Scope of Supply not covered by individual Tenova Product Lines. Typical deliverables include technical specifications, instrument and valve data sheets, instrument list, instrumentation lay-out, cable list, cable layout, JB and interconnecting wiring diagrams, MTOs for bulk materials.
- Oversee the entire process of the material requisitions for the Instrumentation (MR, TBE, vendor follow up, review of vendor technical documentation).
- Ensure proper coordination with other technical disciplines.
- Manage the outsourcing of instrumentation engineering, ensuring compliance with company and client contract standards and quality requirements.
- Support the Site Technical Office and Construction/Commissioning team during erection and commissioning phases
- Support Proposal department for preparation of technical proposals (review of tender documents, preparation of technical qualifications, technical descriptions, MTO, etc)
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s/master’s degree in engineering or secondary school diploma.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in instrumentation engineering in complex projects for steel, oil&gas, power industries, including coordination and supervision of engineering subcontractors.
- Knowledge of major international Instrumentation Standards & Codes and best engineering practices.
- Familiarity with Office Suite, Autocad and Navisworks.
- Proficient in English.
- Ability to manage relationships with Client/Partners/Suppliers technical experts.
- Willingness to travel.
- Collaborative approach, teamwork ability, problem solving skills and flexibility.
- Strong coordination and planning skills
