HSED Lead Engineer

We are looking for an HSED Lead Engineer to join our Plant Engineering Team in the Special & Turn-key Projects Group of the Upstream Business Unit. The ideal candidate will have a with a strong passion for technology and motivation to work in a multicultural and international environment characterized by high technological complexity.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall Tenova HSE Design and Process Safety for large and complex steel and process plants, ensuring that health, safety and environmental aspects are integrated into the design of the projects.
  • Ensure that design complies with HSE legislation/standards/norms, focusing on hazard identification & mitigation.
  • Prepare and review HSE design documentation, such as specifications, procedures, philosophies, reports, manuals, etc.
  • Participate in design HSE reviews such as HAZID, HAZOP and SIL sessions.
  • Participate in risk assessments and studies such as QRA, FERA.
  • Design Hazardous Area Classification.
  • Design active and passive fire protection (e.g. F&G, firefighting and fireproofing design).
  • Design environmental protection measures (e.g. BAT compliance, emission limits specification, noise study).
  • Ensure proper coordination between the Tenova Product Lines to achieve uniformity and consistency in HSED design.
  • Specifically develop the HSED engineering of the Balance of Plant (BoP), i.e. the Scope of Supply not covered by individual Tenova Product Lines.
  • Oversee the entire process of the material requisitions for the Fire Fighting equipment (MR, TBE, vendor follow up, review of vendor technical documentation).
  • Ensure proper coordination with other technical disciplines.
  • Manage the outsourcing of HSED engineering (for specific deliverables or studies), ensuring compliance with contract standards and quality requirements.
  • Support the Site Technical Office and Construction/Commissioning team during erection and commissioning phases
  • Support Proposal department for preparation of technical proposals (review of tender documents, preparation of technical qualifications, technical descriptions, etc.

 What we ask for

  • Master’s degree in engineering
  • Experience in HSE engineering design / process safety in complex projects for steel, oil&gas, power industries, including coordination and supervision of engineering subcontractors
  • Knowledge of major HSED international codes, standards and best engineering practices (API, IEC, NFPA, etc)
  • Knowledge of Hazard analysis techniques (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, SIL)
  • Familiarity with Office Suite, Autocad and Navisworks
  • Proficient in English
  • Ability to manage relationships with Client/Partners/Suppliers technical experts
  • Willingness to travel
  • Collaborative approach, teamwork ability, problem solving skills and flexibility
  • Strong coordination and planning skills

For the position, the starting gross annual salary will be from € 55.000, with the final offer determined based on the candidate’s seniority, experience, and skills, as well as the outcome of the selection process.
